Rider FAQ's

Where does the ride start and finish?

The ride starts and finishes at Spanish River Church at 2400 Yamato Road (at St. Andrews Blvd).

What is the cost?

The registration fee for the 15, 30 and 62 mile rides is $40 until April 1st, when it increases to $45.  The fee is $50 to register the day of the event.  The registration fee for the Family Ride is $17 until April 1st, when it increases to $20 and $25 the day of the event.

Is this a timed event?

No, although there is a time clock to give you an idea for your time, this is not a timed event and riders are encouraged to ride in groups according to the pace they would like to ride.

What are the riding groups (distance and average speed in mph)?

62 mile:
A - 24+  B - 20 to 23  C - 16 to 19

30 mile:
B - 20 to 23  C - 16 to 19 D - 15 mile or less

15 mile:
D - 15 mile or less

D riders are encouraged to do the 30 mile or 15 mile routes to ensure they return in time for lunch.

Is there a police presence?

Yes, there will be twelve PBSO sheriff deputies at key intersections along the 15, 30 mile and 62 mile routes. 

Is there SAG support?

Yes, there are mechanics at each of the six rest stops along with two roving SAG vehicles.  There is a Ride 4 Orphans help phone number (printed on the map postcards) if you have trouble on the course.

Are food and drinks provided?

Yes, included with the registration is pre-ride and post-ride food and drinks along with food and drinks at each of the five rest stops. 

NOTE: All post-ride activities including food service will be outside under cover.

Are there post-ride activities?

Yes, at the post-ride luncheon there will be entertainment, raffles and a silent auction to benefit the orphans.  Lunch is served until 12:30pm.
